For years the skincare industry has centered almost everything around collagen.
And while collagen absolutely matters - it may not be the starting point of skin aging the way we once thought. One of the reasons regenerative aesthetics and ADIPEAU has generated so much interest is because its entire philosophy focuses on something most skincare brands barely discuss at all: the health of your dermal fat cells.
Not filler, temporary swelling, or aggressive tightening - but actual tissue health! 🌱
The ADIPEAU approach is built around supporting the skin’s regenerative environment — particularly the tiny fat cells that live deep within the dermis around our hair follicles.
So what are Dermal Fat Cells and why do they matter?
Healthy skin naturally contains many small fat cells throughout the dermis. As skin ages or experiences chronic stressors like inflammation, UV exposure, intense exercising, hormonal shifts, weight fluctuations, poor sleep, chronic stress, aggressive treatments, barrier dysfunction - the number of healthy fat cells begins to decline and the same time, the remaining fat cells enlarge to compensate.
According to the regenerative discussion ADIPEAU brings to the table - enlarged fat cells become inflammatory 🔥. Inflammation suppresses collagen and elastin production, tissue weakens, and skin becomes thinner, loose, more hollow, and less resilient over time.
This is why skin aging often looks like much more than wrinkles. People will frequently describe their skin as saggy, crepey, hollow, and that's exactly what's happening at the tissue level.
The Two ADIPEAU Products are designed for different biological patterns.
ADIPEAU Strength Gel
The Strength Gel primarily focuses on enlarged inflammatory fat cells, tissue weakness, laxity, puffiness, and inflammatory aging patterns.
It works by helping shrink enlarged fat cells, supporting healthier regenerative signaling, and stimulating pre-adipocytes (immature fat cells 👶) to multiply.
ADIPEAU Volume Cream
The Volume Cream is designed more for hollowing, depletion, volume deficits, under eye hollows, temples, marionette lines, and general facial deflation.
It uses ingredients that support the maturation of new ✨ healthy ✨ fat cells.
The cream is more regenerative focused while the gel is more strengthening focused.
ADIPEAU timelines by concern:
⭐️ Facial Laxity + Sagging
Best choice: Strength Gel
Concerns: early jowling, thinner feeling skin, jawline definition loss, nasolabial folding, general "looseness"
Expected timeline: approx 4-6 weeks
Notes: Skin often feels stronger before it looks it and visible structural improvement can take several months. Continued improvement will compound with long term consistency. Make sure you apply broadly across the entire face rather than spot treating with this!
⭐️ Neck Laxity + Neck Bands
Best choice: Strength Gel
Concerns: Crepey neck skin, horizontal lines, visible platysmal bands, loose neck
Expected timeline: 1-3 months
Notes: More significant changes aroung 6 months and ongoing improvement with continued use. For this area the neck bands can temporarily look worse before they improve! This is because as fat cells shrink the tissue can initially appear emptier/more wrinkled/creased before it has fully strengthened and reorganized itself - so stay consistent and trust the process!
⭐️ Under-Eye Puffiness
Best choice: Strength Gel
Expected timeline: 2-4 weeks
Notes: this is one of the faster improving concerns! Puffiness is more enlargement/inflammation driven than true depletion which is why.
⭐️ Under-Eye Hollows
Best choice: Volume Cream
Expected timeline: gradual over months of consistent use and deep hollows may require many many.
Notes: improvement often starts from the outer edges inward so again with this one, consistency is key as the changes occur to the tissue! Similar to neck bands the area can look not ideal until it has fully strengthened and reorganized so stay consistent here as well!
One more important note on the under eyes - many people will have both puffiness and hollowing simultaneously. As inflammatory puffiness improves with Strength Gel underlying hollowness can temporarily appear more visible. This isn't regression! It's often the next layer becoming visible once swelling and enlargement calm down so you can benefit from doing both Strength Gel and Volume Cream in this instance and in that order.
⭐️ Marionette Lines + Mouth Hollowing
Best choice: Strength Gel + Volume Cream together
Expected timeline: for early stage dimpling - weeks to months. Moderate depressions will take several months, and established marionette lines often 6+ months. The earlier the concerns are addressed the more regenerative potential the tissue has though 😊
⭐️ Temples + Cheek Hollowing
Best choice: Volume Cream
Expected timeline: noticeable differences around 3-6 months but improvements are gradual and cumulative. Significant rebuilding may take a year or longer in deeply depleted tissue which is common in those who are highly athletic, frequent dieters, and significant weight loss
⭐️ Weight Loss / GLP-1 Facial Changes
Best choice: Strength Gel + Volume Cream
Concerns: deflation, neck laxity, hollow temples, loose skin after rapid weight loss
Expected timeline: early visible improvement in 1-3 months with fuller regenerative rebuilding in 6+ months
Note: When thinking about this specific concern have grace with yourself and try not to think of it as "weight loss ruined my face." It's actually that rapid fat reduction can reveal tissue weakness that was already occurring beneath the chronically enlarged fat cells. Therefore the loss helped you get a jump on this if you so choose ⭐️ Use strength gel first followed by volume cream or you can start with strength gel for a few months and then volume cream later.
⭐️ Menopause-Related Aging Changes
Best choice: Strength Gel
Concerns: seemingly sudden loss of firmness, jawline squaring, neck loosening, body skin laxity
Expected timeline: 4-6 weeks with continued improvement over several months
Notes: this concern is often highly responsive because enlarged inflammatory fat cells are such a major driver during the menopausal transition.
⭐️ Cellulite + Body Laxity
Best choice: Strength Gel
Expected timeline: 3 months for laxity associated cellulite, 6-12+ months for younger fibrotic cellulite patterns
Note: consistency matters HEAVILY for body applications because larger surface areas require more product and diligence!
A few things I found interesting while learning all of this -
For rosacea and sensitive skin the Strength Gel can feel incredibly soothing and over weeks to months may reduce redness and reactivity in the skin. And for Acne prone skin Strength Gel over time can reduce the dermal inflammation in the skin which is very supportive for acne!
Now a popular question - How long does ADIPEAU take to work?
And a very great question to have! These are not designed to work like filler. It's not an instant tightening or plumping effect and wont created temporary swelling. It's designed around regenerative biology - which takes time. Some areas improve surprisingly quick while other call for much longer consistency.
I'm gonna walk you guys through a timeline for common areas so you can refer to this as a reminder! ⬇️
Regenerative approaches are different. 🪴
Instead of masking the issue temporarily, they aim to improve the actual tissue environment over time.
That process is slower and less dramatic initially but more cumulative and natural long term.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention this - lifestyle matters too guys. 🫣
One thing I genuinely appreciate about ADIPEAUs philosophy is that it repeatedly acknowledges that skin doesn’t exist independently from the rest of the body (‼️ ‼️ ‼️).
Skin health heavily relies on adequate protein, sleep, stress reduction, moderate movement, circulation, lymphatic support, and recovery capacity.
Skin regeneration is not just about what you apply topically. Tissue environment matters enormously!
Chronic stress impairs circulation and lymphatic flow, inadequate protein slows regeneration, poor sleep amplifies inflammation and slows recovery.... I know i know I know. But it's very true.
Moderate sustainable movement and adequate recovery creates one of the best environments for regenerative skin health.
What makes these products different to me is that they're not centered around forcing short-term cosmetic change. They're centered around improving the environment the skin lives in.
The focus is tissue resilience, inflammation reduction, regenerative signaling, healthier skin architecture, and gradual rebuilding over time. 🧱
To be honest I think this regenerative direction is where much of the future of advanced skincare is heading. I am constantly researching and reading about new advancements and I can tell you - regenerative skin health is here in a big way.
Maybe the future of aesthetics isn’t about forcing more change into the skin — but finally learning how to better support the biology that was already there. 🧬 🩵 😉
